The International Cultural and Educational Project
“Dialogue of Centuries”

In the history of civilization, there are milestones, i.e. events, that dramatically change its destiny. In order to understand what has changed and which road the humanity has turned to, you need a distance, perhaps, of a hundred years. These events reach us through historical works, chronicles, and memories of contemporaries. However, nothing except literature and art can transfer better the spirit of time, its aspirations and desperation, mistakes and finds, images of the people who preceded us, and the life itself on this earth.

The Project has been implemented since 2012

THE PROJECT’S OBJECTIVES:

  • To increase public interest in literature and art, world classics, their role in cultural and spiritual search for addressing challenges of the past and present.
  • To link generations through history, traditional values, joint creative, cultural and educational activities.
  • To unite creative people and organizations for creating a general cultural environment.
  • To help the young to see that wars and violence are not ways out of difficult situations and do not address either local or global problems but aggravate them.

MAIN EVENTS OF THE PROEJCT:

  • International creative workrooms;
  • International public and scientific readings;
  • Essay competition;
  • Work of the exhibition commission on the organization of the final exhibition;
  • A series of mobile exhibitions and cultural and educational events in museums and libraries;
  • Literary readings.

Basing on creative forces and initiative of partners in regions, the Project covers the wide audience in the CIS and other countries.

The Project is open for proposals and initiatives. Dear participants! We are pleased to announce the beggining of the acception of the works at the 15th International Art and Graphics Contest and the 5th International Cartoon and Film-Strip Contest.

At the end of the summer, when the main crop begins to ripen, the season of fairs usually begins in Belarus, where farmers bring potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples and other vegetables and fruits that are traditional for our area. But in Loev this year the harvest festival has been held unusually, because the main character was a watermelon.

The 2nd open competition of school gardens continues. What do our participants grow in their gardens? What cultures are most common or rare in participating schools in rural areas of Vitebsk, Gomel and Minsk regions?

On the last Saturday of August, Loev will receive guests at the holiday “Day of Watermelon and His Friends”. Loev District Executive Committee will support this holiday and it will bring together participants of the “Watermelon and His Friends” initiative, as well as everyone who is interested in this topic.

In School gardens, participating in the Initiative “Watermelon and His Friends”, experimental work is in full swing. By mid-June, the first fruits of watermelons appeared on the experimental sites.

Representatives of schools and environmental centers of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova took part in the international seminar “School Garden” as an educational platform for modern safe agricultural technologies”, which was held on June 24-29, 2019 in the educational center of Green Cross Belarus. For five busy days, they learned about modern, safe methods of plant growing, were acquainted with the experience of cooperation of small agricultural producers and joint promotion of products, visited school gardens in Belarus.
