Network of Business Incubators for the development of modern agricultural entrepreneurship,

professional and social growth of young people in poor and suffering rural communities

Overall objective:

 To foster the employability and active participation of young people residing in disadvantaged rural areas (incl. the Chernobyl one) in society and economy by developing modern labourskills, supporting them in becoming leaders / entrepreneurs and promoting new professional opportunities among them

 

The main idea of the project:

  • To help the school grounds «School Gardens» to find a modern educational and social role,
  • To incorporate them into the global educational and economic environment,
  • To increase the culture of the young generation in the field of healthy nutrition,
  • To give impetus to the spread of efficient and safe agrotechnologies.

Specific objectives:

1. To build capacity of rural schools with gardens to become business-incubators for teaching and practicing modern techniques of high-value added agricultural production to young people in poor rural areas  

2. To enhance management capacities, skills and knowledge of all the phases of organic farming and business of disadvantaged youngsters in rural areas towards the creation of new sustainable rural employment opportunities

3. To foster cooperation between business-incubators, local communities, regional / national educational /vocational institutions, labour and food market actors; to integrate them into a common educational and economic environment

 

 

The guide is part of the programme "Agritourism". It is designed for preparing and conducting elective courses for pupils a well as career guidance. It is suggested for teachers, heads of interest groups, high school pupils and all interested in the subject.

The manual, developed as part of the training programme "Organic Agriculture", includes practical and methodological recommendations for teaching the basic principles, agro-techniques and technologies of organic agriculture.

Author-compiler - Dina Ponyatovskaya-Zamyshlyaeva, a psychologist, an expert-consultant on working with adolescents and their families – members of the family club network established in Chernobyl zone in order to improve the socio-economic situation.
