It’s important that the task of the competition was to identify and support rural schools that are interested in turning their school gardens into educational platforms, where pupils will be able to acquire knowledge and skills on modern safe agricultural technologies and healthy nutrition. The competition is designed to help schools evaluate and realize the potential of their school gardens for educational purposes, to attract students, teachers, parents and other local forces to organize and develop school gardens that will help solve the goals of education, vocational training and vocational guidance for the younger generation. According to the authors of the project, the selected schools with their school gardens will be united in a common network of “school gardens”, which will be connected with scientific and educational agricultural institutions.
