The contest "In My Homeland" presents artworks of young talents
The final exhibition of the 15th International Art and Graphics Contest "In My Homeland" will be held from 6 to 25 April in the art gallery "Universitet kultury" (Oktyabrskaya sq., 1).
This year the exhibition presents not only the results of the competition, but also the views of experts from different countries on children's art. Eight mini-exhibitions, which form the basis of the entire exhibition, were formed by experts from Belarus, Russia, China, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Poland and Lithuania. The number of children drawings selected by experts includes both the works of the winners of the competition - laureates with a medal, laureates and diploma holders, as well as works that were not marked by the jury in any way.
This experiment was conducted for the first time this year and was aimed at reflecting the similarities and differences in the views of artists and teachers from different countries on children's art. Each expert was guided by something different during the selection process. For example, Chinese experts clearly defined their criteria - originality, emotionality, integrity and possession of technical skills, Aldona Kolutska from Poland drew attention to interesting experiments, Bulgarian expert Ivan Stoyanov sought, among other things, the reflection of national traditions.
The works of young artists are attracted by the originality of creating artistic images, naive interpretation of reality, and fantasy perception of the world. "It is useful to visit exhibitions of children art, so as not to get bogged down in the problems of our world. After all, children drawings are a window into the pure naive world that is no longer available to us as adults, " says Yegor Batalyonok, painter, member of the Belarusian Union of artists, member of the jury of the contest "In My Homeland" from 2006 to 2017.
It is worth to note that the organizers of the exhibition and contest "In My Homeland" for 20 years have collected a large amount of children drawings – more than 40 thousand works from 57 countries. This year, it has been expanded by another 1,500 works by young artists.
– Children drawings are distinguished by a clean and bright view of the world, a special naive children's vision of beauty, - says Vladimir Shevtsov, Director of the Green Cross Belarus, Chairman of the organizing Committee of the contest "In My Homeland". – We want to share this beauty, energy and power of good with everyone, adults and children. This is what our contest is working on!
The International Art nad Graphics Contest "In My Homeland" was established by the Green Cross Belarus NGO together with the Ministry of education, the Ministry of culture, the Ministry of natural resources and environmental protection of the Republic of Belarus in 2006.
