Overview of the project "In My Homeland" - 2021
The next round of the International Art Project “In My Homeland” has come to an end. Young artists from 25 countries of the world took part in the 16th Contest of Art and Graphics; aspiring animators from 3 countries sent their works to the 6th Contest of Cartoons and Slidefilms. In September 2020 - January 2021, the project team received and processed 7,070 drawings, 77 cartoons and 3 slidefilms.
In early February, the jury of the competitions, which included professional artists, teachers, art historians, animators and directors from Belarus, determined the winners, laureates and diploma winners of the competitions.
You can look behind the curtains of the 16th International Contest of Art and Graphics “In My Homeland” and see how the jury members selected and evaluated the works in a short video and a photo report.
As a result of the work, some members of the jury shared their thoughts on the competition and its results. Read Petr Prokhorov’s musings (in Rusian), Dmitry Pukhovskiy’s thoughts (in Russian) and Tamara Shatilo’s encouraging speech (in Russian).
Moreover, you can watch a video report video report on the results of the 6th International Contest of Cartoons and Strip-Films and a photo report on the work of the jury.
Despite all the restrictions, a conference of artists-teachers was held in mid-February. Responding to the challenge of our time, we organized it in online. Thanks to this, participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine were able to discuss social and artistic projects that were implemented in different countries, schools and studios, and we were able to make a full recording of the conference.
Continuing the experiment of 2020, each member of the jury additionally chose the most interesting, in their opinion, works from among those that did not become winners. These works will form small author's exhibitions which will soon appear on our website.
In order to introduce the jury members in more detail, we asked them to share their works. Their personal exhibitions will also appear on our website soon.
In February-March, the project team processed the results of the jury’s work. At the very beginning of April, the names of 2,444 medalists, laureates and diploma winners appeared on our websites:

Unfortunately, epidemic restrictions do not allow holding the grand opening of the exhibition and awarding the winners as it was before. However, there will be two final events this year: May 14th - an online presentation of the works awarded with Laureate Diplomas with a medal and a presentation of some schools that have received the largest number of awards; June 19th - a rewarding session of winners of the competition from Belarus in the GCB educational centre near Smolevichi. The rest of the winners and diploma winners will receive awards by post.
All the best works of the competitions can be found on the website of the Green Cross Belarus NGO.
