THEME:

THE TOPIC OF 2018 EDITION IS: “WILLIAM TURNER – SUN IN THE FOG”

This is one more year of our common journey around the world of art. Together we will know another artist and through our paintings we will share this knowledge . The hero of this year's edition is English Romantic landscape painter Joseph Mallord William TURNER (1775-1851).

He is known for his expressive colourisation, imaginative landscapes and turbulent, often violent marine paintings. Suitable inspiration for Turner's imagination were found in shipwrecks, fires, natural catastrophes and phenomena such as sunlight, rain, rain and fog.

No wonder Turner is referred to as "the painter of light".

In his private life Turner was an eccentric person. He had few close friends except for his father, who lived with him for 30 years and worked as his assistant studio. He never married although he had two daughters. His work was exhibited when he was still a teenager. Unlike many artists of his era, he was successful throughout his career.

William Turner, a deeply experimental and progressive artist, whose style laid the foundations for Impressionism is considered one of the greatest masters of British landscape and marine painting. Apparently his last words were "The Sun is God".

DO NOT COPY THE ARIST’S PAINTINGS - let them be an inspiration for creating your own beautiful works!!!
